    Annandale

Annandale dates back to 1685, when an Englishman named Col. William H. Fitzhugh purchased more than 24,000 acres of land from the colonial government for a plantation that his descendants named Ravensworth. In the early 1800s, the Little River Turnpike was built through Annandale, connecting it with Alexandria and Fairfax, and a town sprung up next to it. Today, Annandale is a Washington suburb with the area’s largest concentration of Korean-Americans. In addition to having an assortment of Korean restaurants, it’s also known for its numerous parks and nature preserves. The housing stock in Annandale includes brick ramblers, townhouses and condo units.
